Engineering @365 is partnering with a specialist engineering manufacturer that produces high-spec bespoke environmental and test machinery for aerospace, defence, and automotive industries. Due to ongoing growth, we are recruiting mechanical and pipework fitters with expertise in copper and stainless steel pipework, brazing, flaring, swaging, and electrical wiring to join the production team.

Job Description:

As a Mechanical / Pipework Fitter, you will be responsible for mechanical assembly, pipework fabrication, and electrical wiring of bespoke machinery. You will work to precise engineering and quality standards, ensuring all assemblies are fully commissioned and ready for testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and fit mechanical components on bespoke environmental and test equipment.
  • Fabricate and join pipework using brazing, flaring, swaging, and bending techniques.
  • Install valves, pumps, tubing, and other fluid or pressure system components.
  • Wire electrical control panels, sensors, motors, and other machine components from schematics (training available if required).
  • Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, and system commissioning.
  • Work accurately from engineering drawings, piping schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Inspect and test completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a mechanical fitter, pipework fabricator, or assembly technician.
  • Competent in pipework fabrication techniques: brazing, swaging, flaring, bending, and pipe assembly.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical wiring of machinery, control panels, or sensors.
  • Strong mechanical fitting skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, piping schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with pressure or fluid systems desirable.
  • F-Gas certification preferred (training can be provided if required).
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
