CNC Machine Operator – Leicester

Contract full-time Leicestershire Industrial 12.50 - 15.00 per hour

365 People are looking for an experienced CNC operator to work within our existing team at our client’s site based in Beaumont Leys, Leicester.

The CNC Operator role:

The basic duties will be setting up and operating a CNC machine, whilst maintaining quality and safety standards. Maintaining equipment and supplies and keeping records.

Reporting directly to the CNC Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring production and quality targets are met.

The ideal CNC Operator must show previous performance and skills in the following areas:

  • A CNC machine operating background would be necessary to support the ongoing manufacturing development and growth of the business.
  • Experience working on AXYZ CNC Router tables is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience with VCARVE PRO and Alphacam software is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Achievement of quality standards.
  • Achievement of performance targets.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent attitude and enthusiasm.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining operations.
  • Select and install cutting tools, tool holders, fixtures, and other machine accessories.
  • Load and unload workpieces into the machine using appropriate materials handling equipment.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain product specifications.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a CNC Operator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes and techniques.
  • Basic math skills for performing calculations and measurements.
  • Ability to handle materials safely and efficiently in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with assembling, fabricating, or using hand tools is a plus

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • CNC programming: 1 year (required)
