Class 1 HGV Drivers Required – Alfreton & Chesterfield

We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers on behalf of a leading logistics provider operating from Alfreton, with an exciting move to a brand-new, larger Chesterfield depot planned for August 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for regular weekend work now, with the potential for full-time, ongoing opportunities as the operation expands.
The Role
You will be delivering chilled and ambient goods to Morrisons RDCs as part of a well-established logistics operation.
Typical Duties:
· Class 1 HGV trunking and store delivery work
· Chilled and ambient loads
· Maximum of 2 drops per route
· Typical route structure:
o Depot → RDC → Collection → Depot
· No handball involved
· No nights out required (unless agreed in advance)
· Start times available between 04:00 and 12:00
· Various shift patterns across a 7-day operation
Shift Lengths
· Monday to Thursday: Typically 8–9 hour shifts
· Friday to Sunday: Typically 12 hour shifts
Pay Rates
PAYE
· £16.00 – £19.00 per hour (depending on shift pattern)
LTD Company Drivers
· Monday to Friday: £20.95 per hour
· Saturday: £21.95 per hour
· Sunday: £22.95 per hour
· Additional £1.00 per hour for night shifts
Available Work
Our client can immediately offer consistent weekend work and is sickness / holiday cover.
Future Opportunities
The business is currently developing a new Chesterfield depot, which will be significantly larger than the current Alfreton operation. As customer demand grows and additional routes are introduced, there will be opportunities for drivers seeking regular full-time work.
Requirements
· Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
· Valid CPC Qualification Card
· Digital Tachograph Card
· Previous Class 1 driving experience preferred
· Good understanding of drivers’ hours and WTD regulations
